Hello,

I turned on my PC today and everything was fine. Windows then told me I had a mandatory update I needed to install, so I did. Ever since I installed the update my CPU cooler's fans have been running much louder than they normally do while idling. Does anyone know why this is happening? The cooler is the Corsair H80i.

Thanks.

Well, it could have been a virus if you downloaded a fake windows update. Otherwise it doesn't really make sense. What are your CPU temps running at?

Temps seem normal, around 29-35 degrees Celsius. Whenever I start the PC up, the fans run normally, but after 5-10 minutes they start running harder like when I play a graphic intensive game. It makes no sense.

Actually it makes plenty of sense. After 5-10 minutes of gaming your CPU will be running hotter, thus the fan speed increase. Sounds like everything is normal to me.

Oh, I didn't mean that I was playing intensive games, I meant that the fans start running as if I were playing a game like that. This is happening with nothing but Google Chrome open.
