Question Mac OSX 10.6.8 to mavericks 10.9.4 update ruinied my mac?

hello I was told to get the 10.9.4 update by apple. My system is running 10.6.8.. or it was until after i installed the 10.9.4 update and now i cant even log in, my trackpad became unclickable but i could move the cursor... and also i cant log in via safe boot. Now im completely fine with wiping the mac and starting all over... but i have a huge collection of music that i need for Djing with . any help

When you attempt to login do you have any other accounts such as Guest or Administrator that you can login with? Are you getting any error messages when you attempt to login? Do you have any external devices connected such as an external drive or a USB hub?

i dont have any external hardware connected. and i dont have any other accounts associated with it.. when i enter password it shakes and refuses the password. also it seems my clicking from trackpad stopped working too after the installation.
