Hi there, I'm currently using a network adapter (TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 Dual Band Wireless N900 PCI)

The issue
I've always had bad pings prior to installing the driver, pinging the router fluctuates constantly ONLY after restarting the computer, from normal 1m to 400ms every 4-5 seconds. (1...1...1....342...243....1....2...1....499...)

The temporary solution?
I installed the Windows 8.1 driver for the TL-WDN4800, and it does solve the issue. Pings return to being a constant 1-2ms. However, upon restarting, the issue comes back. Almost as if Windows is uninstalling the driver. But looking into device manager tells me that the driver is still there.

* This only happens on this computer with this adapter.

I'm very confused as to why it works temporarily, but fails to work when Windows restart.

Anyone have any ideas? I appreciate it. I can provide more info upon request.

I did a Google search on this - it appears many people are having this problem with your network adapter and Windows 8.1 (Windows 8 works fine they report). I didn't find a solution for it....
