So I bought a new wireless adaptor since for whatever reason it seems to completely cut out when streaming/torrenting; but that isn't the issue. I bought the new wireless adaptor and even though when trying to connect to the network (full bars) it says "fail to connect'. If I restart the router, I have roughly 30 seconds-1 hour of the internet working fine before it disconects, is unable to reconnect, and I have to restart the router again. Now the very strange and confusing part is, that if I cannot connect to the network, and I unplug my new wireless adaptor and put in the old one, it will also fail to connect over and over until i restart the router, but from then on it will stay connected.

I'm on windows 8

Also it completely stops the internet signal from going out, whenever it happens the internet on no other computers works or my cell phone.

Not sure if this is your problem or not but I worked once for a DSL ISP (no names) that had the firmware in all of there routers setup to lock when too many outgoing packets are detected. Like some one hosting a torrent. The solution was to stop the torrent and reboot the router. The thing was viruses would also cause the router to lock because they were also sending out lots of packets too.

Like I said thin but it may be your problem.

Thank you guys for the fast responses, however don't sweat it i'm not going to bother with it anymore there's a million other wireless adaptors that aren't a huge pain in the ass so I'm just going to buy another one, this thing is making me want to tear my hair out.

The adaptor was Belkin N150, router is a netgear not sure what model.

Would appreciate suggestions on what adaptor to buy too if anyone has a good recommendation.
