GPU Fan Stops then starts!!??..... HELP!!!

How are y'all?,


I Still have my old Gtx 260 :) and am getting my R9 270x delivered Today :D

i used to have fan issues first... the fan would abruptly stop when gaming making the GPU Damn HOT!!!... then i figured it out that iit waS the EVGA's Precision doing this so i disabled it and now every game works perfectly. ALMOST!....

i use EVGA to monitor the GPU's Load temp and fan speed and the GPU fan seems to be working fine....(Avg Temp:75-80 most of the time ).

So why am i posting this here???


when i start to play NFS Rivals the GPU fan speed hits 100% percent quickly and the temps go way over 90..... and the GPU's fan stop! :pt1cable: .... and it starts spinning if i give the gpu a gentle tap.... :??:

other games i played without issues:

BattleField 4 (Ultra without Post Processing) :D ,

*AC4 (Ultra without AA @1366*768)

* Amazing Spiderman 2(Ultra)

* Skyrim(real vision)(ULTRA @ 1366*768).:D

Forgot :

* Sleeping Dogs * Ultra :)

* Splinter Cell Blacklist (Ultra- too much of FPS) :p

SO NFS RIvals(Ultra) is making ma GPU go nuts!!??? or is it something else????

Gtx 260 ( R9 270X from today baby :D)
Core2Duo E7500
Corsair CX430
4 Gigs of DDR3 Corsair RAM
1 TB of HDD

The GTX 260 is probably just way underpowered for rivals. Pop in your r9 270x and see if the problem persists.

Yup will definitely do that!, but the FPS i get when gaming with the GTX is not bad for its age!..... it seems to be working fine!.... maybe ill turn down the settings a notch down and try?!....

should i try cleaning the heatsink??

i just dont want my old boy to go down like dis :D

Well yeah cleaning the heatsink and lower the settings will help (running ultra on that card is probably killing it lol). Honestly though, pop in the new card and youll be running it smoothly :p

:p.... hehe..... will do that..... but i tried out something now!... i used EVGA to set the fan @ 100% percent... the fan works for 3mins then stops.....:??: could this be an issue???
