i have the msi edition 250 gts, and i am trying to get an audio passthrough via the dvi-i to hdmi adapter by connecting the spdif out on the motherboard to the spdif in on the graphics card. the audio option is enabled in the nvidia control panel.
I need to do this because, for whatever reason, my vizio tv decided it wasn't going to display a rgb signal after moving the tv and pc across the room (i was using a vga and auxillary cable for sound and video before, i was okay with it, though there was some white noise. however, now that option doesn't work at all)
so the issue i am experiencing is that no sound is being played, and nothing with 'spdif' is showing up in playback devices . i looked at the manual for my motherboard to make sure i connected the cable properly, and i have the audio driver from my motherboard's support page.
if it matters, my motherboard is a biostar TA785G3 HD, the graphics card is a n250 gts, and the tv is a video e-29 1i-A1.
