I'm trying to build a PC but I am not too sure about the CPU and Memory

I'm about to get a i5 K-series CPU. a 4690-K to be exact and a 1x8GB memory rather than a 2x4GB memory because it's cheaper. I'm not sure how these specs will affect my gaming performance and would very much like to know what you guys think

I've read that the difference in FPS between a 2x4gb and 1x8gb is about 15% in performance but I have no idea how significant that is.

I was going to get an i5 4690 (w/o K) but since right now 4690K is cheaper I thought why not? Will there be conflict with the rest of my build? I'm not planning to overclock by the way

What is Dual-X (Graphics Card)

They run discounts all the time, it being cheaper isn't so uncommon. Thats happened at some point with every "K" CPU and and its non "K" partners. For example, when I bought my i7-3770k, it was the cheapest Ivy Bridge i7 thanks to a discount code.

If you ever decide you want to overclock, you could probably get very small increases without any real effort at all. Probably a 6% increase in performance for no additional power and no added heat and only take about 5 minutes to do.

As for your build, the biggest change I think you should make is the RAM. 2x4GB...

its less than 15%.. way less 1-2% FPS difference. If you dont plan to overclock K isn't needed, but since you said it's cheaper (what I find hard to believe) go for it.

He seems pretty knowledgable despite not being a major reviewer. He said in games the difference is very little, but if you do pretty much anything at all on the computer besides that, you will want dual-channel for major speed increase. Probably even will help the PC boost faster, and help loading improve between scenes. Just in game its not very effective.

Some changes that imo would do better,
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XTVm23
the screen is one of the biggest.
the psu would be my choice
the case would be nice with the three blue led fans if you like that.
The wifi card is good i have it and it performs well.for W8 do you need to get the drivers from their site, the only thing that might bother you is the green led on it.
If really not overclocking would the i5 4590/4460 be a good choice too to save some money.
This ram i also chose for the color with that motherboard and with a window in this case, it's good ram (dualchannel) from gskill.
The gpu is just a bit less expensive.
