Unfortunately your motherboard is a really old socket 478 board that was released in 2006 It does not support modern 3rd generation SATA 3 6Gb/s solid state drives. All of the motherboard components are ancient history, especially the chipset. There are no system BIOS upgrades or driver updates for ssd support. In addition, the board does not have any PCIe slots of any kind for a modern adapter card.

I think you just set a new record in this section of the forum. In all my years here I cannot remember anyone with an older motherboard asking about adding an ssd.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

BTW - When your motherboard was released in 2006, Tom's Hardware published the very first technical review of an ssd. It was a Samsung prototype. There were a lot of problems and the ssd never made it to production. Samsung went back to the drawing board and we didn't hear from them for several years. When Samsung came back, the company came back with a vengeance. Today 1 of every 3 consumer ssd's sold in the world are Samsung ssd's.
