SD to HD via USB 3.0. How to get maximum speed.

I'm building a pc with a USB 3.0 SD card reader. One thing still confuses me so I'll try to write this correctly.

If I stick any SD card in my USB 3.0 card reader, will I get USB 3.0 transfer speeds from SD card to my hard disc?

I'm trying to get the fastest possible transfer speeds for jpeg photos and some video files. I'm just not sure if I need a faster SD card for this etc etc, or if just putting it into the usb 3.0 reader will do the trick?

the slowest device is most likely the HDD because the read/write speed of a HDD is somewhere between 50 to 150MB/s depending on the type of drive and which area of the disk is being used.
