Intel I3 2100 performance

I want to know that I have an i3 2100@3.1ghz.... So will it be ok for gaming??
I dont have a gpu currently, have 4gb ram and gta 4 runs smooth on lowest graphics only on the graphics of I3.
Do I need to buy any other processor if I use :
Radeon r7 260
8gb ram in my new pc

No,you won't have to buy a new CPU.
An R7 260X or a GTX 750 Ti will be a perfect match for your CPU.

Edit: It will bottleneck in CPU intensive games,but other than that,you are good to go.

Even GTA IV is highly CPU intensive.
Your CPU is not bad speed-wise, but GTAIV will be limited by the fact that the i3 only has 2 cores instead of 4.

Battlefield 4, in the multiplayer modes. Crysis 3 would be another. Make sure your PSU is good enough to handle a GPU upgrade.

Is that 4GB System memory (RAM) or 4GB graphics memory? If it is 4GB on your R9 270X, that is overkill. You can save by getting a 2GB model. On normal gaming on single monitor you will not notice the difference.
