My DVD worked perfect for the past 2 years , now it keeps disappearing after a while from Windows 7 and Device Manager . If I reboot the system it will reappear and work as it should , but after a while ( one hour or so ) it will disappear again :(  . I tried to reinstall the drivers, no result ; I tried to do the registry thing ( deleting upperfilters and lowerfilters ) but the registries aren't there :( . What can I do to make my DVD visible all the time ?

Hello... check your internal connection to it... ( Power and Data cable ) but yes they are throw away item theses days, so a new one as suggested is common.

I checked them also ( forgot to mention it in the post ) , they seem to be ok , I don't think that they are the cause :??:

In Control Panel, Device Manager is it working properly and is the driver up to date?

When it shows up ( after the reboot ) , yes , after that it doesn't appear anymore , like it is connected anymore ....
PS: yes , the driver is up to date
