Have a 600 watt PSU and want to play games like Dota 2 at stable 144fps at highest settings. What GPU do I need?

Greetings,

So I'm planning to get a 144hz monitor (thinking about BenQ XL2420Z) and a video card with it. I mainly play games like Quake, Starcraft II or Dota 2 and I would like know what GPUs are capable of bringing stable 144 fps that wouldn't require more than 600 watt PSU.

My computer specs:
PSU: Corsair 600 watt.
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-4430 Processor.
RAM: 8 GB.

It would be great if the GPU cost wouldn't be more than 400$. Any feedback on the BenQ XL2420Z is also welcome. If you have any additional points I should know please share your knowledge. (for example, is my cpu good enough for this setup?)

Thanks in advance!

Solution
With the power supply you have could you go up to a r9 290(X) or gtx 780.Just look at your budget and pick the best you can get.
ASUS R9 280X as your GPU an XFX Core 650W as your power supply. Why? The Corsair 600W is low quality,it uses cheap capacitors that can die pretty easily when you play games a lot and damage your card that way.
Again,ASUS R9 280X and XFX Core 650W.(Seasonic S12II Bronze would also be a great option. )
And the monitor is great too. :)

Thank you for your input. Altough why ASUS R9 280X? Not that I know anything about video cards, but after reading some forums I've found that quite a lot of people experience some serious artifacting with this card. It seems risky.

I prefer ASUS,but you can go with a Gigabyte,Sapphire or a HIS R9 280X.

Actually, after reading some more I've found that artifacts appear on all R9 280Xs regardless of the make. Would I still be good if get a gtx 770? The stable 144fps are the main focus.
