So i just got a new Gigabyte R9 280X and it is performing really bad... I think even my older GPU GTX 570 got more fps in games. So with the R9 280x i get usually about 30-45fps in assassins creed III when i am in cities, if i change options its still the same... Please help if you can. Sorry about my english, i am from Finland so i dont write perfectly.

My specs are:

Processor: i5-3550 @3,3 ghz
Motherboard: ASRock H61M-DGS
RAM: 2x4 GB 1333mhz
Graphics: Gigabyte R9 280X 3GB GDDR5 OC
Power: Corsair GS700

Ps. I have tried to find solution on internet but with no luck. And yes i have the latest drivers, and i have tried the drivers with driver cd...

Assassin creed III wasn't particularly a good pc port but you should get higher fps.
It expected for fps drop in cities since you have more objects to load.

Use AMD drivers from AMD own website for future updates:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

Currently 14.4 is the latest non-beta driver released.

Is your GPU overheating ? If it is your GPU will automatically reduce speed to not overheat.

Something isnt right, 280X should be able to max any game out there. Are you checking GPU usage/temps/clocks while gaming?

If you had a nvidia card and now have a amd it sounds to me like there are some lingering nvidia drivers causing you issues. I would boot up into safe mode completely uninstall all and drivers AND check for any left over nvidia drivers and uninstall those as well. Then reboot and go to amd website and download latest drivers. Also the newer cards have required motherboard bios updates and driver updates so if you haven't done that I would do both of those while you are at it.

So i deleted everything Nvidia stuff, tried to update motherboard's bios but it doesn't find anything else than this what i have now, meaning the first bios update.

So on the manufacturers website they don't have a newer bios update or any hot fixes? What about motherboard driver updates?

Most bios updates are done via USB stick and through bios. R u sure you are updating correctly?
