want to convert external disk to internal disk

I have a seagate external powered hard disk which I want to connect to a desktop for internal storage and buy myself a new portable hard disk

I just want to be sure that if I remove the outer casing and connect it to desktop will it work like normal internal hard disk??

I wouldn't do that. I would just buy a fully internal drive because the external ones aren't designed for the extensive long usage that internals have. also, it will be difficult to mount. Opening the outer casing will probably screw it up if it hasn't got a shielding inside.
The other way is much more possible ( internal --> external)

Well , I suppose it differs from drive to drive but I am just talking in general and to be on the safe side.
