I have made a new build this week but I ran into a few problems. I have an R9 270X, but when I try join a match in a game, it will begin to connect and then the whole computer will blackscreen, shutdown and restart. I think this might be an issue with my power supply, since at the moment I am using a Radeon 6570 and this issue does not occur. I am using a Corsair CX430M with a dual molex to 8 pin adapter for the R9 270X for it to run. When I am usually browsing or doing basic tasks it is perfectly fine, no issues. Only when I am running games.

AMD FX 6300+ @ stock + stock fan
Kingston Hyper-X Fury 4GB (1x4) @ 1866MHz
PowerColor Radeon R9 270X (2GB GDDR5) / Sapphire Radeon 6570 (2GB DDR3)
Asus M5A97 R2.0
Corsair CX430M
WD Caviar Blue 500GB @ 7200rpm

Would upgrading to the 500W Corsair CX be enough? Or should I get 550W or 600?

Corsair CX series are Tier 3, i would go for a better quality PSU from Tier 1 or 2.
I would go for 550W or higher.
Try looking for Seasonic 550W or XFX 550W.

Just bump up to a 600-650W PSU. So you will never have issues with enough power, and it will give you enough power for overclocking the 6300.

List 3 suggestions and we'll comment.

I wanted to get a modular power supply since my case is pretty small and I wanted to keep it tidy, but it isn't a big deal, so that's why I got the CX430M.

I'm not planning on overclocking since I will use this computer for quite a while, I don't have any idea how to do so. and even if I do it might only be bumped up to 4GHz~ish

I can either get a Silverstone 600W, the CX500M, or the XFX 550W.

My vote is XFX 550W. It will give you room if you do decide to overclock the 6300...which I suggest with a proper cpu cooler. It'll give you better fps in games and the PSU is top quality as it is made by Seasonic.
