I have been reading and reading about overclocking this cpu and time and time again I see people posting "oh you should be fine on stock voltages up to 4ghz" Either I have a bad chip or these people do not have any experience with this chip. I'm working on 3900mhz and have already had to increase the voltage to 1.375, I go up much more than that I gotta push it to the 1.4-1.5 range which is insane. Is there somehting wrong with my chip/mobo? I have the ASRock 970 ex3 but hopefully my RMA'd sabertooth 990fx will come back from ASUS soon and I can try with that board.

Solution
Not all cpus overclock the same, one person with a 6100 can get easily to 4GHz, and another person with another 6100 can barely hit 3.9GHz like you, is more like a matter of luck. Another thing to consider is your motherboard, the sabertooth 990fx should perform better than the 970, thats the main reason of their price differences. You should get better results with the sabertooth mobo.
