I just reinstalled windows on my computer and now when I try to go on the internet it won't let be because it saiid it's not private. There is a couple of wierd things I found when I got to connections it says Network1 instead of my actually internet network. Also I tried to install Intel LAN drivers but it said there was not LAN driver to use. I know it's not my cord because I do get internet it just won't let me go on some websites. I tried to upgrade to windows 8 (I have an extra copy) and it said that it can't connect to the internet even though I am. I have never had a problem like this before any help?

Please post some more information on your system: motherboard model and version of Windows 7, also do you use the integrated NIC or have an add-on PCI/PCIe card?
If you run the command prompt and type in ipconfig, do you get an IP address like 169.x.x.x?
Does your NIC (LAN adapter) show up in the device manager and network control panel?
Trying access the Internet with wired or wireless? (your tag says wireless, but you only discuss wired)
