New CRT monitor: should I turn it off or leave it on?

I couldn't get used to pixelated text that several new monitors I tried out offer, and since I read text online almost all the time, I decided to buy a new old monitor. I found a place that has never-used still in the factor box CRT monitors built in the 1990s. I bought a 17" one and from day one was pleased. It shows both text and images clearly and it's SO easy on my eyes. Anyhow, I play music 24/7 using my computer. I am not always sitting in front of the monitor when the audio is on since it's piped through out the house thru a wireless audio system. I want to know if I should leave my monitor turned on in and use a screen saver in order to hear the audio, or should I manually turn the CRT monitor off each time I leave the computer for a period of over 30 minutes. I want to make this CRT monitor last as LONG as possible since they're getting harder to find new. What do you think I should do about leaving it on or off? Many thanks.

Solution
You should turn it off. When not in use it will last longer as it won't be subject to as much heat and wear on the parts, and not to mention those things consume a ton of power, about as much power as 4 much larger screened LCD monitors. So your power bill will also thank you for turning it off.
