Hi, so I've had my computer for about 9 months now without any real hitches, recently I ran into some problems where my computer would just shut off randomly, usually while gaming. It's not a heat issue with any of my components because I've been monitoring them, and it's not a issue with windows. I think it's most likely a problem with my power supply but I'm not sure how to check and see if it actually is causing my crashes.

It's a Lepa G series PSU for the record.

If we agree or it turns out that I do have to get a new PSU are there any brands that stand out as leaders in this category? ex: Thermaltake, CoolerMaster, EVGA

True. That is why it is a personal rule not a rule of thumb. I know 80+ is only a measure of efficiency not quality but I figure if they are going to put the money in to get it certified then it should probably be an ok power supply.

Hard to tell. When these kind of things happen it is usually either the PSU, CPU, Mobo or Ram. Since the PSU runs all of those I would start there. There are ways to test your power supply.

ahh little bit of a update / more questions. I've been looking more in depth at my temps and i'm seeing this ---> http://imgur.com/BN1jaqJ temperature #4,6 keep going up and down erratically, anyone have a idea whats happening? or should I start a new thread?

I should also note this was taken just after a crash.
