Hey guys,

I'm really tired of countless nights of searching for a new desktop or laptop do my gaming. I just want to be able to play games like Far Cry 4 and Watch Dogs, on the lowest settings possible, I don't care. I live in Canada and its a pain the ass, along with being costly, to ship parts in and out if they're broken or whatever, so no custom built PCs for me. Even pre-built PCs shipped in to the country is hell, for customs and what not as they raise the price by a crap ton. For example, I wanted to buy the Digital Storm Vanquish II level 1 (labelled as $699) but with shipping and taxes it comes to $926, that is, without customs charges. I have about $850, tops and I don't care about it being AMD or Intel (I prefer Intel and NVidia as Im used to them, but it doesn't matter). By the way, I can't upgrade my old PC as its a piece of 4 year old trash. Any and all help is appreciated guys, thanks!

That's a bummer. What's your budget?

Yep, it really sucks, and I've got about 850 at the most to spend.

I was thinking about this one instead. Thanks a lot, for suggesting New egg. However, I read a few reviews saying that ibuypower PCs don't last long, is that ?

It's good, defiantly won't be getting anywhere near high settings in most of your games.

As far as life time, do you mean built quality or productivity?

AMD Radeon R9 270 2GB vs NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 4GB ? Please go R9 270. GT640 is eight tiers down in Graphics Card Hierarchy Chart.

The issue with iBuyPower is the use of poor quality PSU's in many of their builds and both of those systems suffer from that. If considering an iBuyPower build or CyberPowerPC build, I'll recommend budgeting a higher quality PSU just as a matter of course. Note that a few of their retail offerings do have decent PSU's but neither of those linked can claim that. One features a SolyTech PSU, the other an Allied (same manufacturer), here's what Gabriel Torres of HardwareSecrets has to say "Solytech is also known by several other names like Deer, L&C, Apex, Allied, Supercase, Antler, Austin and others, and they seem to be around since the beginning of times with a not so good reputation" found here http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Rosewill-RD600N-... and although that particular PSU passes it's review, it is a different design than either provided in the pre-builts
A saying that was going around a few years ago about PSU's was "Nothing dies like a running Deer" - reference this review http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=... linked to conclusion page
Just a heads up, not a deal breaker IMO but something to be aware of

OK, so I was asking how long an average ibuypower, or cyberpower PC would last. As a few reviewers said it'd be 1year tops, and that seemed ridiculous. I'm only using the PC for a bit of school work and gamin, nothing too serious. And for the R9 270 vs a GT 640, I know its a huge downgrade but I wanna save as much money I can, and I don't wanna play the games on maxed out settings. I just wanna be able to play those games on 1280 by 1024 resolution, low settings with playable fps. And thanks for all that info on the PSUs friedman, but here's the thing, I can't really "choose" my PSU cause I'm getting a pre-built one. Are you suggesting that I look around for a good PSU to switch out? And what exactly goes wrong with these lower quality ones? Do they simply break or die because they're not meant for gaming? And I was thinking about this one, its much cheaper so if I do need a replace the CPU, I can afford to do so. And the graphics card, again low-tier, but better than the GT 640. I think. Thanks for all the help guys much appreciated!

The thing that makes those PC's not last too long is usually the PSU. A bad PSU can cause a lot of problems and has the potential to take out hardware in the sneakiest of ways (voltage fluctuations and ripple/noise cause degradation, sometimes very slowly) sometimes they decide stealth isn't needed and just commit suicide, still others may decide not to go alone and take out components also. It really is a crap-shoot with an unknown variable like that.
Both CyberPowerPC and iBuyPower forums may be some help in making a decision.
One thing I found interesting, for $50 NCIX will build your PC for you (sans heatsink if aftermarket) here are some options along those lines http://pc.ncix.com/pcbuilder/ - it does seem to be a bit pricy but you get options for hardware which is nice

Change Operating System to Win 7 64 bit (32 bit version limits you to 3GB of ram useable)
might want to look into a 2 x 4GB kit of ram for a total of 8 GB

Other than that it looks to be a solid build
