Hi, i am new to tom's hardware forums, and i have an old ASUS silent square cpu cooler laying around, so i wanted to know if it is compatible with my motherboard.

Motherboard: h87 plus.

Why? is there so much of a difference in size between lga 775 and lga 1150?

I think that LGA775 has smaller holes that LGA115X socket type.

What CPU are you using and how high are you planning to overclock it?

An I5-4570. I dont know, maybe to 3.3ghz.

You're going to overclock it by 0.1 GHz?
Really? That's not an overclock,it's like you've done nothing.No offense,but it really is.
Oh,and I forgot to tell you that H81/H87/H97 motherboards aren't good for overclocking so. :)
