Hi so I recently bought a rosewill arc m650 psu for my build but it is way too loud, it's the loudest thing on my build and I looked it up and it isn't broken that is normal, so I opened it and saw it has a two pin connector for fan is there anyway I could swap that fan that it currently has with a better three pin fan? I know the three pinned fan won't fit in the connector so I thought I could just run it out of the psu case with the rest of the wires and plug it into the mobo or 4pin molex would that work cause I don't have a soldering tool or anything and don't know how to, what am I risking and is it safe all help is appreciated thanks!

3 pin only has 1 wire for rotation speed and stuff. You can do away with the extra wire and just have two wires +/-5v or +/-12v

That's a poor power supply , don't bother . order a quality PSU.

I currently have a raidmax stock fan that came with my case, noctua nf-p12 (cd 12v, 1.08w, .09a), cooler master (dc12v, .16a), cougar turbine, and the stock cooler for hyper evo 212, I just wanted to know if I did change it which would be beter and the more silent fan for the psu

Agreed. I would just replace the whole PSU with a quality unit.

It would be blasphemy to use the Noctua...
Use the raidmax fan.

But my fan is a 3 pin but the psu only has room for a 2 pin do I just run through the outside with the rest of the wires via 4 molex or mobo or does it end to be plugged into the psu

How bad is this psu cause this is the only one I have or my antec ea 650 which is pretty dated but not modular

Use the raidmax fan.

It's a cheap stock fan u sure that would be best compared to the other aftermarket ones?

If you don't know how to connect a 3pin fan to a 2pin connector then forget about changing the fan altogether. Get a decent PSU like the others said. Don't play with things you don't understand especially when it comes to AC/DC voltage

Alright but can't I just run it of the case to connect to something else rather than connecting it to the psu itself cause I mean the fan will still run and be inside the psu, I'm just giving this older build to my siblings for a school pc but it is hella loud with this psu and I don't want to buy another one for something like that

That PSU is low quality. It can't even produce it's labeled wattage without failing.

Get a quality unit. It is not worth frying your system with this low quality one.

Okay thanks I didn't know that, I was running that on my system but I've been using the antec earth watt 650 cause it's a lot more silent that is a few years old is that one good do you think cause when I got it was all dusty but I just sprayed out the dust with aircan I have an amd fx8320 cpu, powercolor turboduo 270 gpu, with msi 970a g43 mobo and corsair h100 on cpu with a total of 8 fans in my system and 1x8gb ram and 1tb of hdd

The Antec will be fine. It is a quality unit.

That motherboard may prove an issue later down the road, but the PSU will be fine for that system.

Okay cool thankyou, how will it be an issue specifically? I know it's a crummy mobo I plan on getting an asus mobo later probably next since I don't need anew psu then

It is just know for overheating and even catching fire in some rare cases. I would not overclock with that motherboard.

The ASUS you have linked there is definitely a good board though.

Lol sounds like a damn death trap for a pc, I haven't oc cause in fear of frying my pc but I didn't know it has caught fire for others lol, why do companies make such crummy products that are so faulty and keep producing them even when they know it has been destroying peoples builds?

Because they know people will buy them without doing research. That board is the cheapest 970 chipset AMD board and for that reason it is VERY low quality, has problems, and also sells like crazy.
