Hello, i recently bought a pre-manufactured tower and the guy kept the GPU so i need a new one. Currently I am using Gfx210 and I am going to use the machine for cad drawings + game :)  Do you have any recommendation? PSU is 450W..

You have an i7 3770 and 8GB of RAM,right?
What is your budget for a GPU? You will probably need a new PSU too,but just tell me your max budget.

Yes, I have approximately 150. I am not going to use this machine that much since i have also my mac.

I, sometimes need cad (Rhinoceros, Solidworks) for some conceptualization and it is not the best thing at mac, still :(

I would say probably an R7 265, it works on a 450w PSU and can be had for about $120 on sale constantly. It has good performance, good for computational work since its GCN.

That keeps the cost pretty cheap, though if you have more or less to spend there are good options higher and lower too.

Btw, until you get the new GPU in, you should know that the integrated graphics in that CPU are better and faster than the Nvidia GT 210.

I agree with IInuyasha74,the R7 265 is a great option,R9 270 if you can expand your budget a bit. :)

Thanks, I was looking at GFX series, checked your option, looking good... As said, if it is going to be my primary thingy, I can spend more but it will be rendering machine.., I am trying to keep the budget small because SDD can be also a good upgrade option, right?

Thanks for the support :)

R9 270 is a good card also:

After rebate it still falls under $150 so its in your budget. Either one will do you well its just a bit of a toss up. The R9 270 has 20% more cores than the R7 265. It tends to do about 15% better in games, and probably similar in compute performance for programming. I personally own an R7 265 and use it to game and I max out most games, but you might want that extra edge. Take whichever you feel more comfortable with, you can't really go wrong with either.

You are better to get AMD instead of Nvidia (GFX is Geforce Extreme, Nvidia brand). Nvidia used to be fastest for computational work and rendering, but when AMD made there new cards for GCN they focused heavily on making an architecture that is better at gaming and increased the computational abilities, because that was there weak point and they needed the high computational ability for there APUs. As a result, now, AMD typically gets many times more the compute performance of similarly priced Nvidia cards.

http://www.extremetech.com/computing/153467-amd-destroy...

See that link, bitcoin mining uses the same kind of work as rendering and computational work. The GFX 680 was Nvidia's fastest single GPU last year, and the 7790 was a GPU weaker than the R7 265. Yet the 7790 destroyed it.

Also SSDs help with general performance for sure.

Hi,

I live in the Netherlands so the price of your suggestion is a bit different here. Do you think that other brand such as like this also the same as your suggestion: http://afuture.nl/productview.php?productID=1142377 ?

Yes the MSI card you posted is good also, so if that is the cheapest R7 265 in your country, that is the best one to get :)
