I'm trying to find an easy way to connect my new pc to the internet.

There is no WiFi card in the pc but there is one in my laptop, so it wirelessly connects to my router.

Is it possible to convert my laptop into an access point, so that it stays wirelessly connected, and I can also run an ethernet port between it and my pc to connect my pc to internet?

You do not want to use it as a AP you want to in effect use it as a router. You can look at using ICS on the microsoft site but it tends to be rather silly to burden a expensive laptop to be a router.

I would look for a cheap USB wireless card it will be much more stable.
