Help h100 message says it isn't working

So I have a h100 cpu cooler with 4 fans plugged into the cpu fan slot with a msi 970a g43 mobo but when playing a game i got a random screen that said cpu fan is not working properly what do I do, it is seated properly and light is on for pump and all plugs are in

I've a vague recollection from somewhere that if fan speeds are too low, that message might appear. SO if the system thinks the fan speed should be 1200, but your fans are running at 600 (because your cooling works well) then you may get that error message. I think you can adjust something in the BIOS, but I don't recall what.

Hopefully this sets you on a good path to Google for the right results.
