hello, I tried to fix it but nothing happened. I have updated my bios with my old cpu. Then I installed the new one but nothing happened. I plugged all my power cables where it has to be plugged. I tested my graphic card, hard drive, ram and cd-rom, all worked.

When I start the computer with the new cpu everything goes on (power supply, fans, everyting) except for the monitor that displays "no signal". The cpu may work because it do warm. I have reset the CMos by removing the battery for 15min. and moved the jumber to second and third pin from first and second. AND no signal to monitor, am really comfused. Also there is no beeps.

thank you for you help.

My motherboard is a D975XBX intel
My new cpu is a Core 2 Duo e6700 2.66Ghz
Latest bios : Version/Date Intel Corp. BX97510J.86A.1487.2007.0902.1724, 02/09/2007

I just had had this problem. If your board has a Q-code display on it does it read "00" because I swapped my own graphic cards for some new 970's and this is exactly what happened to me the pc would turn on but not boot. I was lucky enough to be able to RMA my board and get a new one (which is in the mail right now) and Ill post a few solutions for you to try that could help that I tried that some people had success on.

1) use bios original file or oldest one you can find to downgrade the bios as well as the newest bios file
2)take all but one ram stick out and disconnect everything from the mobo except cpu/mobo power and see if the problem still exist (remove graphic cards as well) your just trying to verify the pc boots here.
3) remove all ram and try to boot it shouldnt boot but it should start beeping or displaying a different error code than "00" if your board has a led q-code display
4) remove mobo from case and put it on newspaper or cardboard and bench test it connect the psu power cords for cpu and mobo and see if it boots up. If it does it means you had a short somewhere in your case so just reinstall it making sure you have standoffs in all the places your mobo needs to be screwed down at!

good luck man!

I had the same problem and I did everything you can think of and read a million post for solutions and never found one. So sorry I don't have a legit answer for you but some of those things have worked for others never did for me but maybe you have better luck than me!
