3.2gb ram out of 4gb

for some reason 800mb of my ram is being used up; and i dont know where its going. how would i go about getting it back?

Do you have 32 bit or 64 bit windows? You need 64 to use more than 3 and change GB.

If you're running a 32-bit OS, you don't. That amount of addressable memory space is being used by the System BIOS.

On some of the older Pentium machines (2007 and prior) the motherboard only recognizes 3.2GB of 4GB - regardless of what OS you have.

And some might be allocated to integrated graphics. So out of 4gb, 3.2gb is pretty good.

i was just worried because when i have two games up it will go to 96% usage and i dont want to mess up anything

That's why we recommend 8gb and Windows 64 bit.
