Hey there, first I'll point you to where I talked about this on Reddit's techsupport. I posted there, but I'm looking to get some more info while I wait to hear back from some RMA things. I'm still torn between whether this is a motherboard or processor issue.

http://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/2gbmv3/new...

My build's listed there, but I'll repeat what I posted:

I googled this a bunch and found lots of suggestions but none seemed to help, so now I'm turning to you guys.

After a random period of time (anywhere between 10 minutes or 10 hours, and it can happen while totally idle or after hours of playing games), my screen will completely freeze up and I have to do a hard shut down or reboot - then, 99% of the time after it reboots, the motherboard will put out a non-stop string of short beeps without powering on the screen. I'd count them, but it's throwing them out so fast that that's kind of tough. Then it reboots itself, and continues beeping. It'll continue doing that until I force it to shut down.

After some amount of time, it'll let me turn it back on without a problem and we'll just awkwardly pretend it never happened.

Things I've looked at:
CPU temperature seems to stay around 40-45c.
I've tried one stick of RAM, I've tried the other stick of RAM, happens with either or both.
I let Memtest run all night, no errors.
I ran the Intel processor diagnostic tool - although I have no idea if that actually is able to diagnose a processor fault or is just for kicks - but it passed without error as well.
I've tried a new power supply.
I've pushed and pulled every connection in the computer to make sure they're all tight.

I later found out how to recreate the problem reliably:

It freezes every time Intel Processor Diagnostic Utility ends its test, no matter if I set the test to take two hours or 5 minutes - that is, it finishes everything, the output says "PASS" and turns green, and immediately everything becomes non-responsive.

Second, after successfully rebooting back to Windows, the date and time are wonky. The minutes and seconds will be off by only a little bit (probably the amount of time it took to get back on), and sometimes the hour is forward or back an hour or two. And the year is always set to 2080.'

Issue one makes me think possibly processor, issue two makes me think possibly motherboard...

Which most looks like the string of beeps - http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm ?

Posy your complete and detailed build.

What type bios does your mobo have?

Try a new CMOS battery for your motherboard.

Here's the full list of parts:

    Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
    Gigabyte GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
    Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Western Digital BLACK SERIES 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
PowerColor Radeon HD 7850 2GB Video Card
Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
    Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer

Running on Windows 8.1, Gigabyte's version F4 BIOS.

EDIT: And as for the beeps, it's pretty much just a nonstop beepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeep for 10-ish seconds until it reboots itself.
