I'm having some...confusing problems (they might not even be problems, my in-adept knowledge of networking might make me think this). For a month or two, I suffered from some pretty harsh ping on some of my favourite games, one of them being Mount and Blade: Warband. So I hop on the server and I begin lagging nearly instantly. I finally decided to reset my router to default values and reinstall adapter drivers (I'm using wireless). It seems pretty good now, but occasionally run into some isolated ping spikes (usually these don't accompany lag). I complained about this on the server, to which many people said they were experiencing issues, and others saying it's on my end. I find it hard to distinguish what is truly to blame. I ran some Ping tests and the packets are being received normally, within a normal time. I was recommended to try Trace Route. I read a bit on it, but find it confusing. What exactly is it, and how do I "read" what it's telling me? For this, I installed WinMTR. Now, this could be all a server issue that I'm getting all hysteric about, but I want my lag gone for good, as it was before. I recently disabled a guest network I had set-up. Could this have caused some bandwidth problems?

Lastly, can having a wrong bios version fluctuate ping? I'm using an Asus Sabertooth Z77 and I don't think anythings wrong with the Bios, but I was told otherwise. Thanks all!
