Ok everyone i'm not too keen on computer parts and all that so bear with me! I have an amd phenom II x4 920, a foxconn A7GM-S motherboard and an amd 780s chipset.
I want to buy either the amd fx 8320 or 8350 processor which needs an am3+ socket and mine is am2+... Obviously, I need to get a new mobo as well right? ...Tiger direct has this bundle and it comes with the ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ATX mobo... So would everything else in my computer right now connect to that motherboard ? I believe my ram is ddr2. I have 8gigs ... my video card is an r9 270.

Really sorry if this is a stupid question. I just don't want to have to buy all new parts for my computer ...maybe i can just get a processor that fits my current mobo instead if thats so. I play bf4 on low...not even at 1080p ... that sucks. Any suggestions?? I'm looking to spend around 250 for new parts. but i can't spend on a whole new computer right now.

unfortunately, the am2+ motherboard is a little outdated. you would need to get an am3+ board for the fx 8350, as well, the am3+ motherboards are ddr3, so you would have to buy ram also. everything else you have will work fine.

Would you recommend getting these parts since mine is outdated? or should I get a better processor that fits my current set up. I would be able to get a pretty good one wouldn't i? since I don't have to spend on anything else...
Thing is. I want to play bf4 on high ATLEAST... and far cry 4 and gta 5 are coming out pretty soon and I want to run those pretty nicely too...

go with the 8350, motherboard and ram upgrade. your video card is fine. make sure to get a motherboard that is crossfire capable so in the future, if you decide to, you can go with another gpu.
