First time posting on here, so bare with me and let me know what I need to help you help me, any input is appreciated.

So I have a computer that just got a fresh install of Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit, everything is running great...However, when I go to install my realtek lan driver, it installs fine and I get great internet speed, but within I'd say 30minutes to an hour I get the BSOD. I narrowed it to this as when I uninstall it from computer management I no longer get a BSOD. I currently can connect via WiFi but was curious on ideas to get my lan working again for better speed.

(I currently have updated Windows to the point of no more updates available. and updated all remaining drivers with a program called "drivereasy" since I did not have a drivers disc to assist me)

Drivereasy may well be your problem. All those third party driver programs pretty much suck. The best way to maintain updated drivers is generally, and in this order of priority, to do so manually using the drivers provided from:

PC or motherboard manufacturer

Chipset or device manufacturer

Platform provider (Also, in some cases, IS the chipset manufacturer. AMD and NVidia for example)

Microsoft and Microsoft update

Third party vendors and websites

(This is an unknown quantity in most cases. Use only as a last resort, and maybe not even then. If done correctly the first four sources should solve any resolvable driver issue.)

So Jacob, my next question is, what is the the model number of your pre-build system or laptop, or, the model number of your custom system motherboard? Also, the model number or reported system name of the Ethernet adapter chipset?

If you're unsure you can find it under Components and Network adapters in the system information applet in administrative tools or run msinfo32.exe from the start menu run box.

At work at the moment, but will definitely check when I get home. At this point are you suggesting I uninstall items currently installed items/driver you listed above to install them (the correct ones if I did one incorrectly) in that order? or simply go find the driver and install them in that order as the pc sits? (I do know the motherboard is a Gigabyte ga-970a-d3, and it is an AMD off the top of my head)

I also need to know what REVISION of that motherboard model you have as there are four revisions, all with differences and configurations. You can find your system specs using msinfo32.exe from the start menu run command or use a third party utility like Belarc advisor which you can download for free. You probably might need to look on the actual motherboard or the box it came in to find the revision number.

i haven't touched the bios, however currently I have uninstalled the Lan driver since when installed my system blue screens (so no it does not currently appear). currently I just have a cisco ae1000 wireless adapter in the meantime attached. I am fairly good working with computer, wouldn't say full fledged techy, is updating the bios something I could do reading the readme's on it? or need to pay someone?

Na LAN doesn't come back, I have set updates (to request my permission) so it won't install/recognize it.

Sorry ask a second time, anything off hand I should very much be aware when doing a BIOS, heard lots of potential issues so was worried. (saw the possibilities of issues so never even tried to read how to do it though.) I have an ISO of my Windows install to recover from in a bad case scenario just don't know what happens in a bad case BIOS thing.

sorry Darkbreeze which part am I missing I posted the system specs from the run line you said to type and network info, the system info is at the very top. Sorry for being noob.

Ok, so it seems that the motherboard revision number isn't listed there and you will have to either look on the box the motherboard came in or on the motherboard itself, which it also seems I did ask before. Smile. It should be on the corner of the board next to where it says made in Taipei.
