I am building my Christmas wish list as well as setting future upgrade plans and i am interested in attempting to upgrade my graphics, i currently have an 8 core amd CPU and a radeon hd 7770 gpu.

I have multiple questions
1. can my cpu handle a better graphics card
2. Am i better off doing crossfire with a second hd 7770...
3. or is it more worth it to get a single more powerful gpu (Nvidia or radeon i dont care)
4. and will i need to upgrade my powersupply, (I know it may not be the best powersupply but i got a newegg bundle so it was like $100 of totoal price of the rig)

oh and i have a less than three hundred dollar graphics card budget, what is my best possible performing card for that price range?
Here is the important main parts,

You're better off getting a r9 280 your PSU will handle it fine and your CPU will handle it fine as long as its piledriver and not the bulldozer 8 core

Is it going to be enough of a upgrade to make it worth the upgrade? And i noticed on the specs it only has 933 MHz instead of 1000 like the hd 7770, and Is there an equivelent nvidia gpu or is radeon the better price option?

Its a huge difference the MHz makes no difference unless its the same model. The 280 is a better 7970 which is way better than a 7770
