Hey everyone! I just got into overclocking and building this past year. I've got quite a knack for it, as it turns out. At the moment, I'm running a cpu which will not bottleneck any gpu set up.

I have an iceq 7870, overclocked to 1220/1420.
I would like some extra performance, but I'm torn between two options.

Should I crossfire my 7870 with a second hand (same model exactly) 7870 for $80 USD
OR
Should I buy a brand new 7950 for $130?

Both seem like a steal for a significant upgrade, but I am not sure if I should forgo any xfire issues and take the smaller upgrade in order to retain a single card set up. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Wow you are finding some extra cheap deals at those prices.

Anyways I tried crossfire before and since looked at others results and it seems problematic with little performance improvements. My own personally experience have me greatly reduced performance.

I would either stay with your current card or if you feel the need for more performance save up for an R9 280x or greater to get the most for your upgrade.

Both are indeed hard deals to pass up! My idea with the 7950 was that since the R9's are mostly a rebrand, I might be able to overclock it to similar benchmarks as the newer 280x. Thank you for the input!

Are you in the USA?
If so, check Ebay. Your thread told me to go check, you can buy some AMD 7970s for about $140 right now.

Both prices are from eBay, and are listed at the moment! I've bought parts from there before and it can save lots of money!

Those are really good deals but i will say stay away from crossfire. If u can find a deal like that for 7970/670 than its worth the upgrade.
