Hello everyone,
I have recently bought an Asus Front Base or my new rig, After a fresh install of windows 8 and clean driver installation, I'm having trouble with my last driver (for the front base).
The installation involves an execution of a few files (done automatically by the Asus installer) but the last one seems to cause my install shield to freeze up.
Clarification:
By freeze up i mean just have a window open on the task bar that is not responsive, when i right click it i get the option to maximize it, when i do that i get an administrator query that verifies that i wanna launch "ikernel.exe" (program filesx86/Common Files/Install shielld/intel/ikernel.exe). When i click yes, nothing happens, and this goes back to a non responsive window on my task bar.
This is a pretty big issue for me since my front base now wont work properly (obviously) without its drivers.
A fix on Microsoft support said to delete the file and it will come back uncorrupted - but that did not help
Did anyone ever encounter this problem?
P.S
- the drivers worked on Windows 7 - (the driver version i downloaded now is for Windows 8.1).
- even legacy drivers from the Asus website did not seem to work.
- my OS is up to date.
