I connected an original xbox 360 to an asus VN247H 1920x1080p monitor via HDMI-HDMI cord. The dash board comes up as 1080p but whenever I play any game, including games like battlefield 4, GTA V, and destiny, the game plays at about 480p. I've tried all resolutions in the console system settings and they all play at 480p. I tried also changing the monitor resolution to 1280x1024 and on the 360 but that didn't work either. I've tried different HDMI cables to make sure it wasn't just a problem with one. I also tried reseting the 360 to its default setting by doing the Y+RT on the start up and that failed as well.

I planned on trying a VGA-HDMI cord but if I can avoid spending money then I'd like to go that route.

Also I use the monitor to play on my PC and it works very well and I've never had a problem with it there, just trying to use it with my 360. I have a second monitor (1280x1024) connected to my pc as well if that helps at all.
