i just finished building my pc
CPU- i7 4770
mb- ASrock z97 pro4
ram- 8gb
hdd- 1tb (was meaning to get an ssd)
EVGA gtx 760 SC 2gb

People on the internet are scaring me. they are saying i've made the wrong choice on my GPU.
i have this 760 and I think i'm stuck with it.
i've heard about SLI... now i'm a pc noob so can someone help me understand what it is and how it will improve gaming performance in games like assassins creed or bf4. how will a single 760 perform with these games?

You should get very good frame rates in these games with slightly reduced settings.
Adding a second GTX 760 will mean much higher power usage which may mean a new power supply.
SLI does not work with all games and where it does the typical performance improvement is about 60 to 70%.
The GTX 760 should be fine really, but if you find you are not satisfied with it you can upgrade the card.
A GTX 780 is about 40% faster than the GTX 760. The GTX 970 coming out in the next few weeks is expected to match the GTX 780 with lower power and more video RAM.

2 x gtx760's performs about the same as a GTX780 except you need a 700W power supply.
