Hi,

CPU: fx8320
MOBO: m5a99fx pro r2
Cooler: Hyper TX3

I upped my cpu to 4ghz from 3.5 by increasing multi from 17.5 to 20 but leaving voltages at auto.

When I game my socket temp stays under 60 and core temp under 50.

When I stress test with intel burn test (3runs only) max socket temp is 74 and core temp 60 (too high for my comfort so I aborted the test).

Is there a chance I will get data corruption when gaming/other everyday (assuming socket<60 and core<50), even though I havent done a 2hr intel burn stability test?

Cheers,

yes there is always the chance, i prefer prime to intel burn test, the socket temp can go high important is to keep the cores under 62c but with 8 core cpu on that board i wouldn't push it higher than 1,4v tops and around 4,5 ( had it before my crosshair v formula and killed it in first day vrms blew when pushing 1,49v to the cpu, with CVF i was able to push 1,6 with no problem) 60 is ok as long as it doesn't start throttling which will happen after 62c

In your everyday usage, do you use 100% of all cores? If the answer is no, then you are fine. You will not see temps nearing 60c.
I hope you turned off Turbo boost because that 'feature' really likes to increase the voltage like crazy.
In terms of stability. Don't worry, your computer will let you know if its not stable. Random reboots, programs crashing.

Hey,

In everyday use, gaming while playing music and having multiple tabs cpu usage reaches 60%ish max.

I turned turbo off long time ago because APM throttles the cpu while gamin causing downward fps spikes.
