It depends on how high your overclock is. My 4770K is on 4.5 at 1.25v at the moment and I'm staying on 75c. Also depends on your CPU cooler. I've got an H100i.

that what I mean, I run at 4.6 1.2v and in games it runs 62 degrees, but lets say I whant to run it at 4.8ghz?
I have a corsair 105 cooler.
so you find it oke if your cpu gets 75 degrees while gaming???

I've played Battlefield 4 for more than 100 hours and my CPU stays at 75c all those times that I've played the game. I believe TJMax of haswell chips are 100c.

yes that's right, tj is 100c
but don't you find your temp a bit high for 4.5ghz with 1.25v??
I have with that vcore under 70 degrees???

and do you have fixed vcore, or adaptive then??

I got fixed and I'm completely fine with that. When it gets to 80c+, that is when I get worried.

It only gets that high whenever I play games that are CPU intensive.

oke nice, yes I use fixed also.
oke will see how high we can go for 24/7 use then.

Highest I've achieved on my haswell is 4.7, but I'm not comfortable with it being that high. Mine stays at 4.5 and the ring core stays at 4.2 always.

oke yes but first I don't have a i7, just a i5.
second I have a very good clocker, that needs low vcore, but it is a hotty when I have to stress test it.

its a engineering sample.

I bench with this

http://valid.x86.fr/7931jk

but what about the ring core, it does not much only for benchmark, and what is the vcore for that what you use??

I believe that vcore is for stabilization of the overclock.

UPDATE:

What the hell am I talking about, I meant to say ring core, not vcore.

I found a thread that might help you out: [link]

no it has nothing to do with stability, I think, its just setting the nb a little higher, but what the hell, I leave that on auto.

To me, it actually stabilizes the CPU, before I overclocked the ring core, I'd always get blue screens.

oke, so you see every cpu is different.
I don't think it will do a lot more in performance for 24/7 use.
but I will try to set it a bit higher, is your cpu cache ratio always 4.2 even if you overclock the cpu to lats say 4.7, you keep it at 4.2??

Yeah, I always keep mine at 4.2 Ghz, if I try putting it on 4.3, it doesn't even boot up.

yep will try higher I now it boots with higher cpu cache ratio, but still have to test it is stable.
