Asus Z97-A Mobo Moniter compatibility?

G'day everyone!

Let me first paint you a words picture... (feel free to skip to the -QUESTION- if you got a lot on your plate)

As of the beginning of the year I had only used computers as a tool for murdering everyone I could see in FPS games/DayZ mod. While I was/am better than decent in this regard and was blissfully happy in my ignorance I have realized that I've been at a severe disadvantage due to my relatively sharted gaming laptop that I had to rest frozen peas on to cool the GPU!!! A sad sad situation as I now realize and no... unfortunately I'm not kidding... frozen peas... sniff sniff...

Suffice to say that my change of standards for a new gaming computer have been born out of my laptop farting a stinky smoke of death... perhaps due to the defrosting peas on my GPU...

Fast forwarding to now and I've been creepin all over this forum for a few months now (leaching up all the info as a non-member) but I've now reached an expertise barrier relating to Mobo/GPU to Monitor compatibility.

I'm simultaneously attempting to build two mid to high end gaming/semi professional photo editing pc's (One for me and one for my missus) while remaining in a reasonable budget. Only a few months ago I had intended to build a bang for buck budget rig but now my brain has been infected with ideas like future proofing and zero lag gaming. Now my reasonable budget has been squashed to a bloody pulp under the weight of my greedy pipe-dreams.... I digress.

I have heard nothing but praise for the Asus Z97-A as a mid to high end Intel suited Mobo and I'm very keen to stick with it due to its competitive price and decent features. However, as I mentioned, my rig has grown more and more beastly with each day and I'm now starting to worry (due to my lack of experience) that it might not do the job.

-QUESTION-

I want to know I the Asus Z97-A/Intel i5 combo paired with either a 290 or 770/780 (still undecided)
and the appropriate PSU, peripherals etc (fairly versed on those) will run effectively:

Rig A : A BenQ XL2420Z 24in LED 144Hz Gaming Monitor

& (Not or as I need two separate monitors for separate rigs)

Rig B : A LG 25UM65-P 25in UltraWide IPS Monitor

Do I have the necessary cable/ports inputs/outputs for the use of these systems as well as the necessary grunt to run these monitors ?

For those of you who dragged your eyes over my whole post to here I thank you for your patience and any advice you care to share for a first PC build would always be appreciated (be it on topic or otherwise)

Cheers a bunch.

Agra.

Cheers for the quick reply's and I appreciate your endorsement of the GPU's I mentioned as they bloody cost enough to warrant recognition, if nothing else (lol). However I think you may have misunderstood my question LukaBoki. I know that the GPU runs the display (perhaps I overstated my lack of understanding) but, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, the Mobo is the vehicle for the GPU/CPU/SSD and HDD to communicate with each other.

My question is relating to varied qualities of Mobo's and if it will be well suited/ideal/sufficient to run these types of Gaming rigs? Or Would you strongly would you recommend another?

You'll be fine. Asus normally has great boards (assuming you don't get a DOA) and the i5 is more than enough. Just make sure you get a quality PSU with enough watts and you should be fine. Personally, I'm getting an Asus Maximus VII Hero and I've heard great things about it, but if you don't need all the features and overclockability, your board should be fine. and the mobo is just the gateway. The PSU is technically the vehicle :p

Cheers swiftleeo!

That's the reply I was hoping for while remaining wary of agreeing with the answer that already suits my point of view, if you get my meaning. I too think that the board I chose will work but I could not find a suitable answer to a similar question and its a lot of money to spend without knowing all the specs. As I see you are familiar with from seeing your setup in the subscript of your reply. A few thousand dollars worth (at least it would be in Australia).

Ps. I would see the PSU as the engine and the Case as the vehicle but analogy is a sneaky mistress! lol

It's about 1800 US Dollars. However, I've spent more than that between switching cases and etc.

This board looks nice spec wise and its much cheaper but if you decide to go for it, research it more.

Decided to change form factor and get the ASUS Maximus VII GENE. Its specs appear to be more than adequate as I don't plan on going quad GPU and time soon if ever. This all may change before I lay down some doubloons. I think I maybe have a bit of a fickle personality...
