At first, my external hard disk is only detected but not shown in <My Computer>.
Hence, I checked in <Control Panel>, <Administrative Tool>, <Computer Management>,<Disk management>. I found my external hard disk partition is shown as <Unallocated> with black bar. I refer the solution from internet, the drive is appeared again in My computer. But I cannot open the folder in the drive. It request to format the drive.

I have important folder and photo in the hard disk. I hope can recover all the data. Please help.

Did Minitools work to recover your data? I have the same issue with my external drive but saw there were some mixed reviews about Minitools
