New rig, having graphical issues

Finally broke down and got the best gaming rig I could imagine.

Asus Maximus VII Formula mobo
Intel i5-4690 3.5GHZ LGA1150
Asus GTX780 3GB
G.SKILL 2x8GB DDR3 2133
Samsung 128gb SSD
Corsair HX750W

I got it today and put it all together, still waiting on optical drive, storage hdd and going to swap to liquid cooling within a month or so (When I can afford it)

Biggest problem was that without an optical drive I've been forced to download the drivers for my mobo and gpu rather than use the included discs, but I think I managed okay.

I downloaded and booted up Battlefield 4 to give her a little stress test, and was greeted with awful screen tearing issues. Was forced to mess with refresh and v-sync settings between both the game and the nvidia utility, finally found a setting that worked alright (Although with some noticable input lag.

I put up with it fine, but after a few minutes I noticed extreme fps drops, usually whenever I looked torwards an open or well-lit area. I don't know much about computers, but I specifically built this rig for this exact purpose, and by the specs alone, it should handle it just fine.

What could be wrong?

Never install drivers off discs. Those are just meant to get you going so you can get the latest. Download IOBit's Driver Booster, scan and let it download and update your drivers. Than make sure you have windows fully updated.
