Thanks for pointing that out I wouldn't have copped on. Does a crossfire only motherboard work fine with a single gpu?

Crossfire and Sli are not requirements, But it just means when/if you want to add another caqrd you can. Crossfire = Amd/Ati/Radeon cards, Sli = Nvidia/GTX Cards. Not all cards support Sli or Crossfire.

Cheers I was wondering
So if I switch the motherboard for this is it remedied.?igabyte GA-970A-DS3P AMD 970 Chipset, ATX mainboard w/ 4 RAM slots, 7.1 Audio, GbLAN, USB3.0, SATA-III, RAID, 1 Gen PCIe x16, 1 Gen PCIe x4, 3 PCIe x1, & 2 PCI

That would be ok, but it is PCI 2.0, not 3.0, so your video card would run at a reduced speed.

Thanks for all the help I'm glad I asked as I would've made big mistakes. I'm confused about the PCI comment however. I can't find any info when looking at the mother boards regarding the 2.0 or 3.0. I just see things like 1 gen PCI x16/x4 etc ? and the closest I can see says 3 PCIe x1 on what I copied above?? Thanks again for helping out

It would still work, but not as fast. You could also get a Intel i5-4440/4430 and a intel mortherboard which would give better performance.
