Win7 x64 based OS.
Hello,
my native is not english and i will try my best to explain it.
My laptop specs are described in the topic itself and i am having a strange issue, my laptop gets shut down randomly... and for the next few minutes if you try to boot, it will keep shutting down
But after some time, i can boot it again and it looks like everything is going fine, but the same problem occurs again the next day.
It happens once in a day...
I opened it up to see if there's some dust in the fan...But no its not overheating, the fan is completely clean and is running fine without heating at all.
I have a damaged battery(Only 1~2 minutes backup) ... So i remove it and plug it in directly to see if there is a problem... But no...It still happens without the battery.
So i thought it might have to do something with the DC power jack(Which is highly unlikely) but no, Its fine too...Because i can boot my laptop without plugging in the adapter(With the help of 2 minute battery backup.... But the problem is still there, Even without the adapter)
Then i thought it might be due to the thermal paste melted down... So i checked it but the problem was not there..
Now my thoughts... Its something to do with the memory, So i swapped my 2 rams.. But by that time it has already started running.
So i waited for the problem to resurface, And it did(as usual)... Then i tried using 1 ram in each slot to see if there's one faulty ram and i found something suspicious..
When i used one ram in the bottom slot and tried to boot, It gave me 4 beeps(Memory reading issue) sound and didn't boot.
Now i thought that this is the faulty ram and put it aside for the moment.
Used the 2nd ram in the same slot, And it booted successfully.
Then i used the 1st ram in the same slot and it booted successfully (Note that since the problem is itself temporary, I couldn't figure out the problem)
Then i tried using both rams(One by one) in the upper slot and it booted successfully
Now i am using both rams in both slots and its working fine, But i know it will happen again....
To test the problem itself, I have taken all steps, Including heavily using CPU and GPU to the max level to see if the problem reoccurs(Just to find out the problem)...But no luck...
My laptop has ~80GB free space... Recently loaded it with safari, opera etc..(If thats the problem)
I have tune up utilities and AVG antivirus..BIOS,drivers and windows updates all up to date
This problem has occured before and i gave it to a nearest servicing centre(Who probably couldn't figure out the problem) who deceived me and charged me RS 2000... So i dont want to go to the service centre...
Besides... Since the problem is itself temporary, There is a chance that i may get deceived again.
Two things to notice here
When i play games, I feel that there's a gradually decrease in performance(FAN/touchpad never gets overheated... But yeah the back part..Near where the rams are installed gets heated)
Laptop is taking longer time than usual to boot(But i am not surprised because i have plenty of start up programs)
I forgot to mention that i have run the ESD test and dell support centre hardware scan test along with d+power button(graphics card test).. All results came positive with 100% issue free.
Update: Noticed that the problem occurs when my battery-charging-indicator-LED is in glowing state.
Now here's how my bad battery works: -
The battery gives ~1 minutes backup only... And it may take 5 seconds~ 5 days for the battery to charge... So when its not charging(Battery full- But the adapter is still plugged in) the problem occurs more frequently.
