os on a 40gb ssd and a 1tb hdd for other stuff. my computer failed to start on firday night and now takes about 5 mins to turn on when it only used to take 23 secs and when i turn it off it takes 10 mins . i noticed my steam would not work so i un installed it and re installed it on my ssd and tested a game which now works. i have tried running a diagnostic on my 1 tb but will not work. so i tried unplugging my hdd and powering up my pc and it would not start saying please install windows ? which is on the ssd which is still plugged in? so i tried the repair option and nothing worked. i have since unplugged my ssd to see if this was the problem and it just came up with a black screen not booting in obviously and have now re plugged in my ssd an my 1tb and now it now working at all just running a check disk ? please help

The OS is on the SSD? Have you tried booting into Safe Mode? if not try that and see how it boots, may have a corrupt driver or Win file...could try going to the Command Prompt as Administer and run the command SFC /SCANNOW this runs Win's System File Checker, it will look for files that are missing or corrupt and replace them with good copies
