Hi, i went into my bios today to see if everything was alright as my cpu is running around 40 degrees on idle! i saw that cool and quiet was set to "Disabled by CPU". so i was just wondering, should i disable or enable it? or just leave it the way it is? will it make a difference to my temps?

mobo: Asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0
GPU: R9 280x

PSU: XFX pro series 750w

I haven't seen that before. But, quick searches, imply that is equivalent to "disabled". If you are worried about every last FPS or lag, then I would leave it as is. If you aren't a gamer then enabling cool and quiet should lower your power usage and heat generated.

Cool and Quiet can make a difference in your idle temps. It allows the CPU to underclock and undervolt. Many people on this forum are trying to the the last FPS out of game XYZ and they disable Cool and Quiet so that the clock speed of the cpu is more constant. If you run Core Temp" or something that shows clock speed and temp, you will see your CPU clock drop to 1.4Ghz during idle times when Cool and Quite is enabled.
