There are a couple of possible answers to this... One is Microsoft Restore Points. The other possible answer would be a restore partition on your hard drive. If you purchased your PC from a vendor that included a restore partition, then there is a chunk of your hard drive which has all the configuration that your PC had when it came from the factory. This would generally be a last resort equivalent to re-installing Windows.

Did you buy your PC from a vendor like HP, Dell, Gateway, Asus, etc? If so then the restore partition would have been created at the factory.
If you built it yourself, then you need to use some type of backup software. Microsoft includes backup software with Windows, but what it sounds like you want is something more like Acronis. It can create an image of your disk to a USB disk or network share. You can then wipe the entire hard disk and return to the backed up state. Acronis is also good for moving from an HD to an SSD.
