Hi,
I bought a video card, while booting, it says it is GF 9800 GT ,but in windows, it says it's a
Nvidia Quadro NVS 290 In fact, There's a paper on the card it self saying Gf 9800 gt, and it says this while booting, But all I get in windows is a 256- quadro nvs 290, I reinstalled my drivers more than once, and currently I'm using the latest, I'm using Win7-32bit, 1GB of ram, and intel pentium dual CPU E2200 2.2 GHz but still, when I open games , it works as if it's a Quadro nvs 290, besides, some maps in Warcraft III work for 15-20 min then the screen becomes full of lines and the pc doesn't move until I restart it (Warcraft III runs perfectly with me on a card equivalent to quadro nvs 290), I searched the web for similar threads, but didn't find any, plz answer quickly

Correct. G92, the chip that is the 8800GT/9800GT had 112shaders. (I think there was the "alpha dog"? 8800GT that had the full 128 like an GTX8800, but had the smaller memory bus.) If your card only has 16 shaders then it's not an 8800GT. Even the 8800GS has more then 12 shaders. I would complain and return.

Edit: That's a good point, does it list the chip name? If it shows as NVxx, then it's a quadro card. Knowing what the chip is called might help nail down what card it really is. But with 16 unified shaders it's not an 8800GT.

GPUz says it's Quadro, but when I start my computer I get the following:
GeForce 9800 Gt
And bios is :60.94.52.00.09
But when I start windows, it says it's a quadro nvs 290 60.84.52.0.99

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try to convince my parents....But still need a solution because I just don't use that much graphics, so there's no need for a new card...

What's the number of shaders, type of ram? I think you got took, and someone took a cheap quadro and flashed it to say it was a 9800GT. You should be mad here. Return to seller, charge back, etc. This is a 9800GT. 112 shaders, GDDR3, etc. If it doesn't look like that, it's not a 9800GT.

Well, I don't know what shaders are, but I do know that it is DDR3 (Quadro is DDR2) and it also has a VGA which isn't present in quadro or 9800GT (Both only have DVI)
If you mean the Ram type of my device, it's a 1GB-DDR2 Kingston RAM
