Okay so here's the deal, I want to factory reset my computer but I don't have my installation disk. However, I DO have my usb that has the boot media on it, plus I have my windows ID and key to install windows 7. I have everything ready but I can't seem to factory reset my computer without the disk.

Also, I really don't want system restore, because I don't have a restore point at the time I wanted the computer to be reset to, instead I only have recent checkpoints, which I don't care about. Sorry, but I don't have the installation disk anymore, I still have my code and ISO on USB, many thanks for help.

It bypasses the installed OS and lets you start fresh.

When you get through the installation, your best bet is to format the current drive so you can wipe out the currently installed OS - that way you know you've gotten rid of any viruses and malware.

Yeah I tried that and I can, however I have a question, if I do boot from the USB, will it override my current Win 7?

I want to get rid of this Window 7 and start a new one, however if I just make a new and leave the old one open, I have a feeling it might let some viruses or malware come over to my new Window 7. So will it override it or not?
