hello i have decided to build my self an nes pc. but im totaly in the dark as to what motherboard to use. i know i need a mini ITX board so can you guys recomend me a decent board for, me the board requirements are , it has to be able to run at least nes emulators play music and be able to watch dvd movies. also i would prefer it if the board used laptop memory as that will save me loads of space, but not required oh and my budget is 300 total that inclused the other parts i need for the htpc nes pc. oh also my pc monitor is a 1920x1080 widescreen tv which i will use as a pc monitor

I actually build and sell these on the side. $300 is plenty if you go AMD APU. I am now using Kabini APUs in my builds along with an ASRock mobo that uses a 19v DC in. Strange I have a guy messaging me from ebay right now about building him one in Tucson with that budget. Is that you? :p
Well one thing to look for are boards with everything integrated. You do not need much power for nes/snes emulation.

Keeping to power consumption in check will also help since the NES case is not made to dissipate lots of heat. With lower power consumption you can also use a picopsu to save LOTS of room inside the system case(but will have an external brick like a notebook).

Laptop drives are almost essential to small cases like this.

Sorry to not have a part list, but 300 dollars is not allot of money to go around with special parts like picopsu.

Asus has a interesting board that does not use a normal ATX power supply. It requires a ~19 volt laptop style power supply.

I would love to see how this build comes together when you get all the parts you need.

I would like to see some of your itx builds. Have any build logs?
