The 280 takes a slight performance edge over the 760.
I would highly recommend looking into a Sapphire or MSI model of the 280 however.

What about compared to a gigabyte r9 270x windforce OC edition? (against the 760 of course)

Agreed 760 in that situation , but 280 if you can.

Don't go XFX for cards , not the same quality.

I wouldnt say worse, but its not the same build or cooling quality as MSI or Sapphire.
I personally enjoyed my XFX 7750, but it didnt have the best thermals.

I do recommend the R9 280 but i have used the Gigabyte GTX760 and the Asus R9 280x Matrix and trust me i dont know why the GTX760 was more stable.
You might have more fps with the R9 280x ( or 280 in your case ) but i saw fps drops for no reason at R9 280x. Maybe because the GTX run with an I7-4770k and the R9 280x with a FX-8350 i dont know.

but i prefer only R9 280 because of Vram.

I would take the MSI, it runs a higher stock clock speed, and better cooler. Sapphire starts to compete with its Tri-X and Toxic models.

I prefer the MSI , great cooling for their cards.

No real question there, 280x and tri-x cooling. 20 bucks more, dont see why not.

I wouldn't have to think about it at that price difference.

Great deal. :D

A good 15-20% over the 760 depending on games and resolutions.
